Here's what's going on in the book so far. Tobias's mother wanted him to team up with the Factionless and help destroy the government. He refused and he and Beatrice decided to move away from his mom. Later, they got caught by a few Dauntless members and are arrested for crimes against humanity (Well, Tobias was accused and Beatrice was his accomplice). Those two are later brought to the Candor headquarters. They were accused for running the attack simulation that the Erudite headquarters used on the Dauntless to attack the Abnegation residence and headquarters. So they both were taken to the truth simulation room. First, Tobias was put in the simulation and a Candor member asked him some questions. His Divergent trait didn't work out against the truth serum and he had no choice but to tell the truth about everything and give away everything about his life and his thoughts. But what he said didn't help Beatrice in any way, making the truth serum a huge problem between Beatrice and Tobias. Later, it was Beatrice's turn to be interrogated. So, they put the truth serum in her and the same person who interrogated Tobias interrogated her however, she was able to overcome the truth serum after a few questions, but decided to keep on telling the truth for each question. The interrogator believed that she was a true Dauntless and asked her the final question, which was, "What are your biggest regrets?" She said that it was when she killed Will, her friend.

After the interrogation, her other friend Christina hated Beatrice for killing her boyfriend (Will), and Tobias lost interest in her for keeping so many things away from him. those two would be forever changed after this interrogation. Early in the morning, Beatrice and her friends, Uriah, Lynn, Marlene, and Shawna decided to infiltrate the Erudite headquarters and spy on them to find out about their plans on taking over the government and eliminating Abnegation from the list of factions. once they entered, one Erudite member shot a sleeping gas that would make anyone go unconscious. only Beatrice and Uriah managed to make it across because lust like any erudite weapon, it was ineffective against the Divergent. unfortunately, they were caught along with the freed Dauntless and the intruders. dauntless soldiers were ready to kill them and with those soldiers was Eric, the Dauntless leader. he wanted to keep two people for interrogation and kill the rest. but after some time he tried to take out Beatrice, who immediately stabbed him to death.

So far, Erudite is the common enemy in this book. Dauntless was split into the mind controlled and the free minded. The controlled half helped the Erudite, the freed half helped Candor. Candor, who was Abnegation's former enemy has befriended that faction and decided to end the existence of Erudite. So far, it is Candor, Abnegation, and 1/2 of Dauntless vs. Erudite and the other 1/2 of Dauntless. No one knows what Amity will do, but they might probably do nothing as they don't want warfare.

A symbol for Beatrice after what has happened so far would be a gun or a knife as she is a true Dauntless member, according to Candor and 1/2 of Dauntless. but another symbol would be a thief mask because she never told the truth so far and it ruined her relationships with her friends and her boyfriend. A symbol for Tobias could be a chicken because he admitted that he was a coward to join Dauntless only so that he could escape his father, the Abnegation leader, who was his biggest fear.

I am still on the book Insurgent, but you have to admit this series is amazing. Here's what has happened so far. Beatrice, Tobias, and the rest of the Abnegation survivors get caught by the Erudite headquarters. The Erudite manage to kill almost all of the Abnegation members except for Marcus and some people that Beatrice knew. All of the survivors escape the Erudite, leave the Amity headquarters and take the train to a place far away from that place. on the train, they meet some of the Factionless and an Dauntless initiate who failed initiation. They decide to team up with the Factionless and try to put a stop to this problem.

 

They went to the main hideout of the Factionless for their safety and to think of a plan to destroy or control the Erudite. They meet the leader, but the leader was none other than Tobias's mom, who people thought was dead. They decided to make a deal with the Factionless to take down this government and to start the war. The rest of the Abnegation was also there and they were the ones who came up with this idea.

 

But I still wonder. :

 

Will the Abnegation survive or get mauled by the Erudite and the 'hypnotized Dauntless?

 

Will Beatrice, Caleb, Tobias, and the other helpers manage to stop this and end the conflicts once and for all?

 

Will the Erudite manage to win the war and end the existence of the Abnegation? What will the Factionless do in response to all of this?

I just started reading the book Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I just couldn't get off this series the minute I started reading Divergent. this series instantly became my favorite book after the books made by Rick Riordan. I will not stop this series unless it will be over. It starts with the two main characters from the first book, and three more people decide to play along. With Beatrice and Tobias, there was Peter, Beatrice's most hated person, Caleb, her brother, and Marcus, the Abnegation leader. they all board a train to the Amity headquarters to fix this problem. This is still going on in the divided future, but is after the attacks on Abnegation. They end up with all of the Amity members and the Abnegation members that survived the Dauntless and Erudite attacks.

 

Based on what I have read now, I think that these five people will attempt to take out the Erudite population and release the Dauntless from their simulation and remove the mind controlling serum from them. The first quarter-half of the book will take place in the Amity headquarters, and the other half-3/4 of the book will take place around either the Dauntless or Erudite headquarters. This time, a war will happen between Erudite and Abnegation and most likely push Dauntless and Amity in the war. I have no idea what Candor will do in this book as they are probably the least important faction in this book, since no person is really from there.

 

The setting is the Amity headquarters which resembles peace and nature. From what the setting is, I think that all of the factions will do the exact opposite of this faction's characteristics which is total war. This was exactly what happened in the first book, and is most likely to happen here also.

The book I have read for this summer was Divergent. The characters in this book change a lot in this book . The main character in this book was a girl named Beatrice Prior. She started as an average girl until she saw her test results. She was Divergent and was completely scared because the others would kill her once they found out about her. So, she spent her life keeping this crucial secret and waited until the others would forget about it. Then, she has chosen her faction, which was not the faction her family was in. She ended up doing insane initiation programs and went through many tests that would change her forever. Later, she made many friends, and a few enemies who would constantly torment er throughout the story until the end. she also saw many other problems and dificulties throughout the story like finding out who her leader really was, one of her friends committing suicide, the truth about her friends and enemies, and many more things that would impact her life.

There were other characters who changed a lot throughout the story. Another main character in this book was one of the Dauntless leaders, whose name was Four. He was just an average person who just trained his initiatives. But once he found out about the real Beatrice. He has changed since he was the first to find out that she was Divergent just like him. The change also happened once she found out his real name and who he really was. Many other characters changed, but none were like these two. These two people make up one important theme "certain choices will make significant consequences", because the choices these two people made made up the whole story and made their world and what they are as the story ends.

This artcle is basically a summary about the book. It just talks about who the main character is, and what will happen in the book through a brief descriprion.
